- Does information exist without observers?
- I know in the purest sense that things like Shannon’s entropy and all that should exist even without humans, but is this really the best measure of information?
- For instance, if an alien broadcasted the prime
numbers in increasing order, it’s just “noise” that’d
get lost even though there is information there. (I
think this might not be true, since surely there’d be
some pattern here right?)
- Follow up, does the increasing sequence of primes actually contain information and how much? (Perhaps could encode as bytes and then measure that way)
