← Full Scholarship Tips

Congrats! If you’re reading this, I’m assuming that you have a full-ride scholarship (scholarship that covers your full tuition and college related costs like housing/food/etc.) If not, there are tons of resources online that tell you where to find them, apply, and what-not. I won’t like to any since they’ll surely be outdated by the time you’re reading this.

STATUS: SUPER ROUGH AND NEEDS A LOT OF WORK. Basically just jotting down notes for myself.

But given that you have one, what should you do now? You don’t have to work, and some people have now placed a large degree of trust that you’re worth the $100k over 4 years of undergraduate.

Roughly, I think you should take time to figure out what you want to do with life, explore widely, and lean into your passions with full force. (Probably things all university students should be doing regardless).

If I could give freshmen self advice, do crazy things that are financially stupid, travel more, and be scared of prestige like the plague. It’s not that prestige is always bad, but it’s extremely easy to get caught up in the game of who went to what company for internships or what university for research. Given that you’re financially stable, WHICH YOU ARE, it’s better to go play low-status games that are more aligned with who you are. This is a personal opinion, but it seems like a waste of talent investment for people to get full-rides and use the extra time playing the same prestige games everyone else is. Go search for more ways of living that are unique to yourself.

There are infinite things you’re allowed to do.
